More often I think I know all about article marketing and every time I'm proved I still need to know something that is a missing in my article submissions and sometimes even to my article writing.
I'm not a perfect writer and my grammar is average when it comes to writing articles. I have read many article marketing ebooks which all say in common that you need to write a compelling title and author's resource box.
But none of them tell you what you should write in title to make it click on the article you write. They even say to write more articles and submit every day to article directories to get one-way back links to your websites.
Blindly many have (include me) have done this same thing again and again. But even after submitting to hundreds of article directories, I have not found that enough traffic is generated to my websites!
Where was I wrong? Why am I not ranked in Google? Forget about ranking, I couldn't see my article indexed by search engines!
I have made every tweaks to my article writing since then. Doing some research on keywords, peeking into article directories and even often changing my writing type. But the results is same as before. Got no back-links, not got my articles indexed and few hundreds measly visitors!
Here's the crucial part of article marketing. Many people quit writing thinking that this kind of promoting doesn't work. Very few gets motivated and do things differently and really try hard to find what is working for only select few and how do they do that.
Is article marketing a waste of time? No, is the answer. The only pain is lack of motivation and impatient. People want fast results. Nobody want to wait for weeks to get organic search traffic that an article can produce in long term. This is the reason why people are wary about writing articles and promote them.
Possible reasons could be this:
1. Don't know how to write articles.
2. Don't have time to write articles.
3. Know how to write, have time also, but it doesn't produce the results that it used to be.
4. Takes more time to get organic results.
5. Writing articles is a hard work. I want to earn money easily!
This mental phenomena is rapid on internet and is getting viral for no good! Every new guru of internet marketing is advising hard work is obsolete and easy earning is in place. This has driven most newbies to not even look at the different aspects of online marketing.
I sometimes feel sad about this. The chaos is driving these newbies to point of no return. These marketers have blended their minds in such a way, every body hates doing "traditional" marketing methods that are still working wonders.
In the ever changing money making concepts on internet, the old method of article publishing have stood the tide of changes. Let me tell you that search engine still loves contents. Original contents. People want information. There are always hungry people who seek information often. This hunger never die. You should make this a point!
There's still enough space for every new player. This type of methods never die. May be the search engine alogarithm change due to unscrupulous persons taking advantage of it. They get punished for their act. But for a person who have crossed all these and have acted fairly upon their rules & regulations, the search engines have rewarded handsomely, by ranking them better and driving hordes of traffic for free. Article marketing lies in this type of category.
Effective article marketing + a will to succeed = $ in the bank!
( This is Josh Spaulding's statement. A bit about him later).
I have made that statement bold. Read it again! Effective & will is all you require for your article marketing success.
What you should think instead and why?
Good Reasons to continue with article writing:
1. Search engines love original content. You'll get benefited in the long run. Remember if you thought driving traffic through PPC is the fastest way to drive traffic, you can run your campaigns till you don't mind spending money.
But a well written article published in an ezine can bring you not only visitors but will do so for years, freely! Can you do this with your PPC campaigns? You need to end up your campaign if you find its no more going to make people click on it!
And thats the benefit you are getting for few hours of work.
2. Writing articles is not at all difficult. All you need to do is to research about the subject before writing in search tab of any search engine and get details about your subject. Study them and write in your own words. It's that simple.
A word of caution: Do not copy them as it is. Its in violation with author's copyright terms.
3. Articles can drive massive traffic in organic search results. Your article is picked by various ezines for publishing. As a result you get exposed to lot of people.
4. Easily be distinguished as an authority of your niche. People will recognize you as an expert. You get lots of subscribers who think will benefit from your guidance.
5. Get one-way backward links to your site. Search engine loves it. You'll not need to beg with any one to link to your site. Is this possible with PPC?
What ever the buzz is happening on internet, article marketing is still a means of earning lots of money.
So you now know the importance of writing articles. But is that all you require? Last week I had accidentally stumbled upon a website Article Marketing Domination owned by Josh Spaulding. As I scrolled through his site, I thought to myself, another article marketing guru claiming his rank in this niche.
But when I started reading and headed further downwards the page, I saw him claiming number 1 and 2 rankings in Google for his set of keywords. I felt bit curious and wanted to do some research and find whether his claims are true as he said on his website. So I started putting those keywords in to the search tab in Google and looked at the search results. He was true on his statements.
I was put into wonder for some time. How did he do this? Even I wrote articles in ezinearticles.com and never had got this kind of results. This is at this point I started feeling that I'm lacking something in doing things perfectly. There after I completely read the page and wanted to know what he is offering.
Here are just a few of the things he claimed that you will learn from "Article Marketing Domination"
Learn the article marketing secrets that separate the 'Guru' from the amateur.
Learn the truth about article distribution and duplicate content.
Find out what 95% of all article marketers do WRONG.
Learn how to EFFECTIVELY distribute your articles for maximum exposure.
Learn how to study EzineArticles.com for article marketing success.
Learn how to create an article, from title to signature, that the SE's love and your viewers will not be able to resist.
I couldn't move away from his website because I had to admit that this guy is not selling the usual crap that hundred others are selling. Without second thought, I fetched my credit card and downloaded the ebook! ( If it was usual thing I can get refund. But I didn't, because it was not a usual crap and it has occupied place in my best books directory :-).
I started reading and finished in one go without stopping. Was I wrong in doing my article marketing effectively? Yes! I was!
Article Marketing Domination is really a nugget where it says -
Why all the article written by you will not get back-links.
Why your article should not solely be targeted to get back-links alone.
A simple technique that is required to effectively write your article title.
How to write an effective resource box that will make the viewer to click - If you miss this part, the viewer will never click on your resource box.
Myths about keyword density - Does it really matter for your search engine rankings?
A decent way to get your article read by hundreds if not thousands of people without spamming article directories. And if you thought submitting your article to 1000 article directories can get hordes of visitors to your websites, you're wrong! ( This piece of information is worth the price of the ebook. It can save you from failures!)
And still more. I cannot give you any specifics of what contains in the ebook. I should respect the authors copyright terms as well. If you have been writing for sometime, and couldn't get far in your article marketing, I highly recommend to invest in Article Marketing Domination. It is worth every penny. Other article marketing ebooks just say how you can earn writing articles. But no one tells you how to get your article read and how effectively to market your information like Article Marketing Domination.
Visit here: Article Marketing Domination.
Josh Spaulding has done a very good job of pointing and correcting mistakes that arise in article marketing. Even a professional writer also need this report to tweak and tone his marketing skills.
Remember, the 'new gurus' of internet marketing who say hard working is out-dated stuff, really don't tell you that article marketing is also their part of marketing techniques! Why believe them if you can judge by your own decision.

Is this the basics of SEO you learnt so far?
Let me give you some clear SEO basics that is been preached all over web. This is the same rehashed lessons that is circulated in different avatars, so far.
In SEO the same myths is blindly followed & many of us have got used to it! So just revising some of those SEO basics here once again doesn't waste your time. Believe me! you have to read this post to really know how many times you have been lied regards to search engine optimization. I admit no to be an exception here.
So lets get started:
" Any web developer worth his salt should know about search engine optimization or SEO.
This is the key towards building an effective web site that would get a lot of hits and visitors. A web site that nobody visits is useless so the challenge lies in leading Internet users to visit your web site.
Thus, your web site need to be "found" when users type in keywords in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, AOL and others.
Once a keyword relating to the products or services that you offer is keyed into a search engine, a direct link to your web site should emerge on top of the list.
You should employ search engine optimization techniques to lead traffic your way, and get more hits that would later on lead to more profit for your company, which is your goal in the first place.
Here are some tips on how you can make it to the top of the list of search engines, and use your SEO techniques to benefit your web site and your company:
1. If you have an existing web site and domain, just optimize the one that you currently have instead of purchasing a new domain.
It will take some time before your web site will show up in a particular search engine, like Google, so it better to use the one that you currently have instead of switching to a new one. (Myth No.1)!
2. Know who your target audience is and aim for them.
If you are in the manufacturing industry and a user types in your product in a search engine, then you would immediately have your target right in front of you.
As soon as the user hits the Enter button or clicks on 'Search', then the person will be lead to your web site.
Make sure that your target market will get 'hooked' on your web site. Once the search engines show the link to your web site, their job is done.
What you should do next is to make sure that your visitor will not leave your web site without them trying out your products or services, or at least leaving some pertinent information so that you can contact them in the future for marketing and advertising purposes.
When hitting a particular target market, learn about their interests, location and age to have an idea of what you can offer them in return.
Also, you can somehow link their interests to your products and services.
3. Search for the right keyword.
You should be creative, persistent and flexible when looking for the keyword or keyword phrases to use in optimizing your web site.
Google and Yahoo offer some tools and tips on how you can come up with keywords that will yield results.
Do not settle for just one keyword. You can also vary the words and phrases that you use for each page on your web site so that you can have more hits.
4. Consider your target market when designing your web site.
The design itself would include the general theme of the web site. You should also pay attention to smaller details such as color and font style and size.
Make sure that the web site is user-friendly and do not forget to insert helpful articles, tips, hints and related links that can be shared to other users.
It is a good thing to have an option to send a link or an article to a friend, which will add more users and increase your client base.
There should also be various ways to browse through your web site, to fit each user.
A person might find it to difficult use the scroll down option so you should also provide hyperlinks which are accessible to them.
5. Concentrate on the web site content.
Regularly update the content of your web site so that old and new users can find something new when browsing through your site.
Make the content brief and precise. Writing a content which has more than 600 words will make the users lose interest ( here's one more!), since most of them do not actually read but just skim through the text.
Strive to be the best and most comprehensive web site and you will make your mark when it comes to information about the products and services that you offer.
It helps a lot to pay attention to detail, too.
Finally, keeping your web site's content updated is a must. ( here's again).
Spread the word about your web site and use the basic search engine optimization techniques and you will surely gain positive results once users visit your web site..."
I'll stop it here. Now, let me give you some weird examples of that is exactly opposite to the above statements.
Repeat: " The design itself would include the general theme of the web site. You should also pay attention to smaller details such as color and font style and size." Just take a look at Craiglist website which is pageranked 8! Does this site look fancy? Did I mention that I always felt how this site is ranked such high in spite of its looks?
It's vitally important to have the keywords that you want to rank for in your domain name.
My good friend Jonathan Leger, has answer for it, I have reproduced the email he sent to me here:
"...I was asked today whether or not it's vitally important to have the keywords that you want to rank for in your domain name.
The answer is no. Surprised? Let me prove it.
Search Engine
That link will take you to Google's search results for the keywords "search engine". The top 10 ranking sites are:
1. altavista.com
2. dogpile.com
3. en.wikipedia.org
4. search.yahoo.com
5. search.live.com
6. searchengineguide.com
7. searchenginecolossus.com
8. searchenginewatch.com
9. searchengineshowdown.com
10. submitexpress.com
Of the top 10, only 4 of the ranking domain names contain the phrase "search engine". The top 5 don't, and the top 3 don't have either the word "search" OR the word "engine" in their domain.
Here's a more "down to earth" example:
Old Time Radio
That link will give you Google's top 10 results for "old time radio", a far less competitive set of keywords. Here are the top 10 sites:
1. radiolovers.com
2. otr.net
3 & 4. old-time.com
5. oldtimeradiofans.com
6. otr.com
7. otrcat.com
8. archive.org
9. en.wikipedia.org
10. rusc.com
Notice that of the top 10 ranking sites, only one has the phrase "old time radio" in the domain name.
Does this mean that you shouldn't use your keywords in your domain name? Of course not! If it makes sense to do so, do so. And, infact, it might help give you a little nudge in Google.
But the reality is that it's all about the links. If you have more quality in-bound links than your competititor, even if your domain name is completely unrelated to the search terms you will outrank the other site...."( Source: Jon's email content)
How true he would have been in his justification? 100% right! If you ever had come across his websites, you will know how much SEO he has done to rank well in search engines. He's simply genius & amazing when it comes to SEO. It's not a farce upon me when I say most SEO wizards out there pretended to be experts when Jon has never claimed himself to be one! Yet he has his own studies & discoveries reagrds to search engines than many of his peers.
A time has just arrived. What you learnt so far is passé. What you're about to learn is timeless. Put yourself forward to push yourself towards the end-of-the-tunnel. you'll witness a light that's going to enlighten you with true knowledge and it's even priceless! Yes I say that again. It's precious & timeless irrespective of at what level you get your hands on it.
It's time for you to start with a new basics of search engine optimization. Head start from here => Search Engine Myths Exposed if you seriously crave about it. It's absolutely free. But the lessons are really priceless.
To your success

Making money out of nothing but affiliate marketing
When the affiliate marketing being offered to you seem to be too good to be true, it is probably is. This is not anymore new. You probably have heard or read the same advice over and over again. The growing numbers of affiliate programs, online or offline are all claiming to be the best from all the rest.
Besides that, they will give you an initial impression that you do not have to do more than just place a banner or two to start earning more profits than you could ever imagine. This is not always the case. This may apply to some who have already built up a successful site and a name for themselves. But for most, affiliate marketing needs a little work and time.
Email can be an effective affiliate marketing instrument. If done correctly, that is.
Promotion by means of email is very rampant. But with it comes spam. If you want to use email for your affiliate marketing, you have to be sure that you stand by what you are offering and that you make yourself available anytime for any questions or queries.
It is said that adding adarticle to your email advertising works really well. Putting up a summary about your product or service that can instantly pique up the attention of your readers works all the time. This summary should contain a link to an adarticle located on your site. By this, you get to promote your business. You also give your visitors a chance to check out other parts of your site.
The advantage to the advertiser is that they get highly targeted clients to visit their site. These people may even become future customers if ever they find the offers interesting and helpful.
Try to differ from the usual. Be unique.
The many existing affiliate marketing made people already blind to the sales and marketing pitch being presented. You cannot blame them. Imagine yourself being bombarded by these things everyday and you will feel the same.
Squeeze out your creative juices and give them something original enough to stop them from leaving and make them stay to read on. You can try and find a hosting company that can do the job well. Having a great one will make you more than comfortable to offer anything from small to big time deals.
Patience is a virtue in affiliate marketing.
Contact a certain company to negotiate an arrangement if you feel that you are confident enough to generate an amazing number of sales for them. If they seem not interested in what you are offering, do not give up yet. Be patient.
Take into account that these companies are bring approached everyday by affiliates only gives out promises. Most of them cannot deliver what they are saying; thus making company owners wary of which ones to choose.
You can always go the extra mile and implement other techniques in order to get more sales. Once you have done this, approach them again for your services. Chances are, they will be more than willing to get into your affiliate program this time around.
Keep in mind that most types of advertising do not give out results instantly. Putting up a banner for your affiliate marketing campaign and getting it off after a few days should not be done. You may think that they are not being effective or that they are not working. It takes time.
Some of the affiliate marketing strategies that have worked successfully for you may not work the same way on other campaigns. It is worth the try but do not expect for things to turn out exactly.
If you are having continuous problems with your affiliate program, get in touch with the company. If they are committed to their business, they will help you in every way possible on which ones work best. They probably have thousands of affiliates willing to teach you what works best.
Affiliate marketing can be exciting and depressing at the same time. The ups and downs you will encounter is never boring; it will always be a challenge
It all boils down to affiliate marketing being the survival of the best of the best, the smartest and the most patient.

What is Your resolution for Your Online Business in 2008?
Hi Friend, I wish you a great new year-2008 to you. 2007 was a mix of experimentation and also painful rewards! Yes, why I said 'painful rewards' was due to the fact I had to get through rough learning curve to implement strategies myself & teach you people. O.k its was a 50-50 year for me. I don't know about you.
Now for 2008 I really wanted to head start with programs that are really making me some decent money. Also I wanted to give you the same money making techniques that I am using to earn myself. I have gone through all the rip-offs through my learning curve and spent 100's of dollars buying every internet marketing products that promised me bags-of-cash overnight.
I have gigabytes of products that I bought for cash, simply getting cyber dust in my hard drives. I sometimes even laugh at my own insanity of driving myself to every another opportunity that simply made me run from one pillar to another post jumping from opportunity to another ditch, that promised every thing except valid results!
Its this 2 years of 'online university' learning curve my online marketing skills was fine tuned in to some what successful infoprenuer. I learnt HTML & to some extent learnt how to build my own simple website for the first time. I spent many nights till 5 A.M wondering how simple PHP scripts work. I learnt how articles are written. Basically this is one area that interest me a lot. Article writing. I love to write stuff. So there is no extra effort I needed to put forth for writing my own piece of opinions, reviews & ebook.
I also started Blogging. In other words, I had worked out myself in to Internet Marketing ladder stepping 2 steps forward & slipping 1 step back, until I cracked the code of 'Online marketing' mantra one fine day. Hurry to know what it is? I tell you frankly, its never a secret. It never opens to you until you are really after it!
There's no secret code for success in online business. But trust me the more you go deep into learning the more you'll get. That's why 95% of new aspiring netpreneurs quit because they don't want to learn more! They don't want to dig this "Treasure Trove" any further. The real diggers, the remaining 5% out-of-the-odd really work hard to make it. That's why they succeed. So the mantra is-" Never quit the opportunity. If you quit, someone else will take it". Its a simple mantra that is hard to practice!
Never hear or believe statements that say hard work is obsolete, smart work is a new way to earn. I do agree that smart thinking can take your business to new heights, but there is never a short-cut route to success. You ought to learn some basics to really know about the business. If you don't even understand how to test the water, you'll never succeed in any kind of venture. Even the course or ebooks that teach you how to work smartly to earn 6 figures income, never tell you what basics you require to really work smart.
Consider this, you're just learning Golf. You're getting your golf lessons from your mentor/coach. Once you learn how to play, you'll then think yourself on how to elevate yourself to a Pro-golfer, by testing & tweaking your striking skills. Isn't this the way you work smart once you learn some basic?
Now think that you're just a starter & don't know basics. Also consider you get world class coaching from golf legend Tiger Woods. Even if he teaches all his techniques & tricks of his inimitable legendary golfing, continuously for one week, I bet you would not have applied his tricks & techniques to your golfing, because you don't even know how to strike a golf ball! You don't know basics! What is the use of his expertise if you lack the "Basics" of the game?
I have been all through getting scammed, believed false promises and every other typos that promised stars. I know wealth can't be generated by waving hands in thin air. Wealth creation is all about getting pained and knowing what caused you to pain and finding solutions. And certainly not suffering or cursing people who caused the pain. Its about getting smarter every now and then to avoid getting pained again!
Friend, this is my way to tell you my wishes for 2008. Stick to the thing you long for. Desire to make it a reality even in the midst of wild that is surrounding you. Learn to keep yourself safe from getting ripped off again. You'll learn on your own when it happens to you. Don't predict things before hand thinking about "what if I fail..."what happens to my business...."I'll never succeed..."I'll never be able to learn those basic..."etc. kind of negative thoughts pass by you even for the slightest.
Finally, Thomas Alva Edison, the genius scientist who gave us "electric light" failed nearly ten 1000's time to finally invent the "electric bulb", never said he failed ten 1000's time to finally make the bulb work. Instead he said-" I came to know that there are ten 1000 ways of inventing an electric bulb!" What a optimistic person he was? and what level of dedication would he put forth? If he hadn't we would still be in dark! Let me dedicate this day to this great man who has lightened our lives.
Let this ignite your spirits for 2008. I appreciate your comments on this.
Enjoy!

Affiliate programs that can also ruin your business...
It is know fact that affiliate marketing is the best thing to start with internet marketing career. But choosing wrong Affiliate programs can be a death blow to your online business. Most new starters think that starting with any company doesn't matter much to earn handsome returns.
The real problem in analyzing each company for its products and promoting them is not a easy task that can be done in one go. With 10's of thousands of companies, you need a buyer perspective to gauge which one to promote.
Here are the few tips for you to do before jumping in to signing for Affiliate programs:
1. Select the company you want to promote. Type in the company URL or their product in Google search and add few words like "xyz product reviews" or "good and bad reviews about xyz product" or something relevant until you get best search results. Click on search.
2. Look for any reviews on product. Open the search results in new window and carefully read about the reviews posted on that site. Make note of good and also bad points. Similarly go to next site. You can look for 5 to 6 websites which have posted their reviews about that product.
3. Analyze carefully the good and bad points about that product. Put yourself in the shoes of a "Buyer" of that product. Judge what the product can do to you if you owned one. Now check for bad ones and assume what it can do for you.
4. Now, its time for you to decide if that product is worth if you purchased. This criteria is very important in deciding the "Refund rates" of that product. If you promote a product that has more refunds than sales, you'll not only lose your sales, but also your investment if you had promoted it through PPC!
5. If the product is a software that is to be used on desktop, you should be more alert in analyzing the technical details of that product. If it is only useful to Windows users, and not for Mac, you'll end up not reaching potential customers due to its limitations.
6. Popularity: If everyone is raving about that product, you have to be more aggressive in promoting the product because of competition. Unless you're a aggressive marketer, you'll end up in no sales. It is wise to select different niches with less competition.
7. If you're just starting out, a word of caution. Internet Marketing niche is highly competitive. Use it to promote non-internet marketing niches also. You have to diversify to more than 5 to 6 niches to earn a substantial income. If you'll only focus on IM products, you may get disappointment unless you're a super affiliate.
8. Use Clickbank to promote IM and also non-IM related products. Even though there is no such yardstick to measure which product is best to promote, you can select products for your affiliate program by checking the 'Popularity' and also 'Gravity' for that product. This is just a crude method to analyze ow best is the product or service. If popularity and gravity is very less, you should avoid selling because very few will be buying it. Again use your discretion to analyze the best out of the lot as stated in points 1,2 & 3 above.
9. New products come to the market place every moment on internet! People are always curious for buying new products. If there was no sales, none would have bothered to churn out new product or service or items that attractive to their senses and also useful. Nobody would ever try to purchase pizza on internet, when its easily available from their neighborhood pizza shop! It's the same way when it comes to promote affiliate products that have no market! So be careful in understanding what people buy on internet.
10. Do not promote products intended for use for one particular person or country. You'll have to get targeted visitors for that product The result is you'll end up in more competition from others or persons selling from same country. If your market is wide and global, you can target many people and can get sales.
11. Look out for companies which have good payment processors, instant delivery of product, and ease of using the product. A digitally download able product is best for promoting. If its a physical product, verify whether it is shipped to all over the globe across countries. If it is limited to one particular country, avoid it.
Remember, affiliate marketing is really a lucrative business to start with no overheads or any kind of investment on your part. It will cost you if you choose to promote through PPC or any other paid advertising methods. Choosing the right affiliate program is the first best step you should take when trying to start as an affiliate.
If you have come across web quite long time, you've heard that you can become millionaire overnight for being an affiliate! Don't be hyped over that type of statement, again. It's not easy to get rich on internet, but if you stick on to your butt and be committed, it is not difficult to succeed as affiliate marketer. I'll post regularly on this topic. Feel free to add your comment on this post.

You have been lied to, Friend!
This is going to be a big in Internet Marketing area. The so called "Ranking in Google" myth is very shortly going to be exposed!
Google is like the Holy Grail of marketing on the web. Rank well in Google and your profits are pretty much set.
But there is SO MUCH bogus information out there, often coming from the "gurus" themselves.
On January 9th, 2008, my good friend Jonathan Leger is releasing a new free report that completely obliterates the following myths about Google (and then goes on to show you what DOES work):
Myth #1: Google Knows All and Sees All
Myth #2: Google Will Not Rank Duplicate Content
Myth #3: You Must Get Links From Related Subject Sites to Rank
Myth #4: Your Site Must Focus On One Subject To Rank
Myth #5: High PageRank Means Good Rankings
Myth #6: To Maintain Good Rankings, You Must Add New Content
..and..
MYTH #7: THE BIGGEST MYTH: Ranking In Google Is Hard!
The site is in pre-launch now, but if you sign up early you will get sample chapter full of proof and details.
